Quick heads-up:

Your dashboard has reset as of July 1st. All your past data is safe. If youโ€™re not sure where to find something or need help with your reports, just give us a shout.

For those of you that are registered for GST and report quarterly, your next BAS is due on July 28th. We've got some tips for you below.

You may want to hold off on lodging your tax return for now, as some of the systems the ATO uses to pre-fill data can take time to update. Check out our tax resources and tips at the end of this newsletter.

We've got a lot for you this month, so let's dive in!

๐Ÿ’ก Tip of the Month with Lauren Thiel, Accountant for Creatives + Sole Traders

If you're registered for GST, you will be lodging a BAS every month, quarter (most common) or year.

Included inside of that BAS there might be multiple line items: net GST collected AND a prepayment of your income tax ("PAYG-I") and/or PAYG-W (the tax withheld by you from employees wages).

So, the one big ol BAS bill might not all be GST.

You can check out the details in the lodgement in MyGov or ask your accountant.

Here's a few more resources from Lauren if you want to dive into any of these further.
